What does StanD stand for (San Diego/Stanislaus/Stanford)? Is it misspelled? #unclearlocation #unclearabbreviation

Yes, it looks more like a U. I think there's the edge of the right-hand serif visible.

I think it's just an abbreviated version of the label below it. Stanford University.
