Notes From Nature Talk

Geographic reference like T2N, R1W, SW/4 of NE¼ Sec 35 ??

What does something like that mean? Google Maps doesn't understand these references. Actually here I guessed "SW/4" was a typo, so I transcribed it as "SW¼".

I also came across one of these. I suppose it indicates a forest section but I may be wrong. The question is should it be put in the location field or should we omit this sort of information.

I'm putting them in the location field. I wouldn't want to omit anything -- imagine these field workers on the day, laboriously writing this stuff down! In fact, if a word or two applies both to the location and the habitat, I'm duplicating them over the fields.

Yes, those are forest section coordinates. We will have to deal with those later. Do what ghewson recommends and put it all in there. Thanks for your efforts.
