what does 'frs' stand for? or is it a typo? (Herbarium label)

Question for a #scientist: The description on the label in image Image ANN00047ch includes "frs prominently ridge-winged in distal half". What does 'frs' mean? Is it an abbreviation or an acronym? Or is it a typo?

Using online search, I can't find a plausible definition of 'frs'. I can't find it at all in a botanical glossary (http://www.mobot.org/mobot/glossary/list.asp?list=english).

It stands for fruits. I wouldn't call it a standard abbreviation, but it is used from time to time.

Doh! I never even guessed that, but should have. Then again 'prominently ridge-winged in distal half' was pretty much Greek to me in terms of providing context to help me guess, as someone without any botany education at all. Each individual word is clear but...

Gotta say though, I have learned a bunch of new vocabulary words working on this project. Mostly habitat words like 'batture' but the most recent new word for me is 'samara'. Living in New England, I've watched them float and crunched them underfoot all my life, but never knew the proper name for winged maple seeds.

This project is great for vocabulary. My fave for beating my word-loving parents at Hangman is "xeric".
