If so, that variant is not found on ITIS or plants.USDA but TPL (tro-23201426) says it's a synonym of Ludwigia palustris (L.) Elliott. The latter is an accepted name per TPL (kew-2494015), ITIS (TSN 27336) and plants.USDA (symbol LUPA).

  Also, the original determination Ludwigia palustris var. americana is also a synonym of Ludwigia palustris (L.) Elliott per TPL (tro-23200191), ITIS (TSN 536977) and plants.USDA (symbol LUPAA2).
