What does CIS mean?

I keep seeing Calbugs with a separate "CIS" label on them. Any idea what this means?

I've seen it too, not sure where to input the info.

Maybe just add it as a comment to the image.

CIS stands for "California Insect Survey" and is usually followed by another unique identifying code for the specimen. But, you don't need to transcribe anything for this.
