How to label a cross?

This specimen is a cross between two species so doesn't fit into the neat 'Species, author' format.

Yes, you are correct. We need to fix that, though these names occur less frequently in general

I have transcribed several herbarium sheets related to the hybrid Eupatorium x pinnatifidum Elliott (= E. capillifolium x E. perfoliatum).

Rorippa palustris ssp. fernaldiana
(syn. Rorippa islandica ssp. glabra var. fernaldiana)

I enter the Scientific Name as written: "Eupatorium capillifolium X E. perfoliatum".

Then I enter the reference as "(Lam.) Small, L." with a comma between experts.
There are a LOT of these hybrids.
