Ornithology; transcriptions and page length

  • HelenBennett57 by HelenBennett57

    Hi,

I think this is a scientist question...

The ornithology ledger pages are quite long; they can take a couple of hours to transcribe. This makes it hard to transcribe a complete page in one session. I was thinking, "I could submit part of the page; at least that much information is valuable", and then had this thought...

Is there a risk that, if four people happen to submit the same page before finishing it, their collective incomplete page will become the consensus transcription? Or is there some kind of check that a submitted page has the expected number of rows?

Is my assumption right, that each row's transcription is cached on your local machine; and that data is only sent to the server when you submit the entire page?
