On ornithology ledgers, I've been writing out entries where the actual ledger just has little ditto marks from the previous entry. Is that correct? I've also been writing the full line number for one where the writer only wrote out all three digits every 10, so it went 300, 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. I rendered that as 300, 301, etc.

Yes. Treat each line as a separate record. If you were someone using the database a record with dittos would make no sense. Don't forget you can use notepad to cut and paste, and you can go up and down the records to make full use of it. 😃

Thank you! This next ledger has dittos in the date field for the first few records, clearly continued from the previous page. I've put them as zeros for now; is there any way to look up the last page and find the proper date?

Nope, sorry there is no way, leave them as blank.

Thanks! Actually, when I looked at the ledger more, those really were dashes rather than dittos (it has dittos in the species name), so those specimens must actually not have dates.
