Message board is separating out parts of URLs that contain # as hashtags

I cannot link this full URL (with internal page link) here on the discussion board: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Administrative_divisions_of_Mexico#States because it contains a # in the URL.
See how "#States" gets chopped off? It is getting separated out as a hashtag....Posted
