    Does anyone know what "ca." means?
    Every time I see it I think "California" then "Circa" which are both obviously wrong.
    This question is sort of embarrassing but I have been unable to figure it out.

    I would have the same thoughts to interpret 'ca.' Do you remember the surrounding words? Some context might help figure out what the abbreviation means.

    ca. -circa- about.
    Most generally used to mean 'about' when describing location.
    Generally used as circa when describing dates.
