Collectors

  This might take too much work for the result it would achieve, but I'm so curious about the collectors and their travel timelines. I wonder who donated the collections and when. Anyone else curious?

  There are a ton of great stories, mostly just passed down among collectors and curators. Maybe we can have some blogs about some of these for a few of our more colorful collectors. As for where the specimens come from, the Essig Museum is a mix of private collector donations, vouchers from various research projects and the bulk, collected by taxonomists over the years as part of the California Insect Survey (C.I.S. on some labels).
