Notes From Nature Talk
There is another specimen in the database that would confirm this.
#moderator The records from Jeff Cole on this date and place have two photos per record (in Essig database) but we only get one of them.
#moderator already in database as 1957 but image needs to be larger as it looks like 1959 to me. Other info in database seems to be correct

This one is already in the database and put in as May 22nd. http://essigdb.berkeley.edu/labels/500000/EMEC501253 Astata bechteli.jpg
I think he spells in Inez but the N looks like a W... 😃 I have come to the conclusion that entomologists write like doctors.
Ladino is a type of clover so maybe that.
I would definitely say 1976.
Obviously there is no guarantee that all info, esp. distance and sex would be the same as this one.
Whoever took the pictures of these labels took two for each, so I suspect 4 other people will get the counterpart. Click on images in next:

There IS a Columbia in California and all the current records of Allen in 1962 were in California, but none dated as late as this one.
...Karl (which is a form of Charles, hence Chas) Sajo. He was an entomologist - http://www.pensoft.net/journals/zookeys/article/2044/
There are couple of records where the record looks the same and the collector was put in as Chas Sajo. It could be an error but more likely.
It seems to be the bottom of the name Michelbacher. My guess is they typed many of them and then cut them all out.
Looking at other records I believe it is July 9th and of course 8000'
Sorry, did not suggest that anyone should guess. Just giving the info so that the moderator can check into it with less work.
other records from this date show what I typed which fits perfectly down to the 78 from the 178. I would put a note in additional info.
Wasbauer
Not guessing. Confirmed via database and having had a similar label. Wilson's Lake was sadly filled in for a while.
...and it was probably collected by Fordyce Grinnell. What a great name. 😃
I came across one like this but it WAS 1900. There are a lot of collections at Wilson's Lake around that time. It has just been rewritten.
He DID spend time in Davis in the 1950s.
I know we are not allowed to write our guesses in the records, but the collector would likely be Jeff Cole.
and the location would be: Kern River Preserve, 1.1 miles East of Vista Grande, on Highway 178 (Kern County, California, US).
Could it be 41 with the white dot having a discolored edge?
