If a date says 84, should we mark it 1984, 1884 or leave it blank because it's ambiguous?

You can almost always assume it's the 20th century unless label looks extremely old.

But in this case the date you should use is on the right - the collection date is 19 Oct 1970. The 1984 date is the date it was identified.

Harrison almost always puts collection date in lower right-hand corner.
