Notes From Nature Talk

J. A. Kusche

    J. A. Kusche was John August Kusche (1869-1934). In the database, he can be found with his abreviated name (71 specimens) and his complete 2nd name (33 specimens). It's clear that the last specimen he could have cought was from 1934, yet in some cases the writing is so hard to read that 1910 might look like 1940, so some specimens are wrongly dated. Like this from Sobre Vista http://essigdb.berkeley.edu/cgi/eme_query?table=eme&bnhm_id=CASENT8156639&one=T&OK2SHOWPRIVATE=. So actually some database entries should be checked on plausibilty, so that all collected specimens are actually from the lifetime of the collector.

Thanks so much for pointing this out! I'm fixing it in the database now.
