Incomplete dropdown Country List

  • penelopekb by penelopekb

Item no 98121 from the Herbarium of Florida State University, Senecio calcarius, is clearly identified as a plant of Mexico from the state of Puebla. However, the drop-down list of country names does NOT include Mexico! The alphabetical list jumps from Mayotte to Midway Island. As it seems misleading to enter the record under "Unknown Country", I have regretfully skipped this record. Please advise on best procedure for this type of problem.

O.K! So I have now discovered that the Country List works from the perspective of a very USA-centric vision of the globe! Fellow contributors from the Old World please note that Mexico follows Unknown Country, USA and Canada at the top of the drop-down list, and then the alphabetic list of remaining countries begins. Maybe a separator bar indicating the beginning of the alphabetic list would be helpful?

Good suggestion thanks! The reason we did this is because most of the specimens are currently from USA, Canada and Mexico so we thought it would be easier to just have those at the top.
