Notes From Nature Talk

Two Labels Present

  • legaither by legaither

It seems like this plant has two labels, with two different scientific names on them. There is no place to put a second label. When this happens, should I skip the specimen, or put both scientific names in the input field?

I'd like an answer to this as well. How to treat pages with more than one plant on them or more than one collector? Put it all in the specimen (or collector) field?

There are several threads on this same topic. I expect some guidance from the administrators, hopefully sooner than later. 😉

This is a great question. As the director of the herbarium curating these specimens (FSU) I'd say that it'd be nice to get the name on the most recent annotation (label).

OK, thanks for clarifying! How about in cases where there are actually two different plants on one page? Add both names separated by comma?
