Prairie relics mentioned in habitat - finding relict soil bacteria

Hey 😃 I just transcribed something (sorry, can't give the ref. because I went past before this occurred to me, but it was a Michel G. Lelong from Louisiana) which had "prairie relic along RR tracks" in the description.
I saw something recently about prairie restoration and looking for soil bacteria, and using graveyards as sites where the soil should have been changed less than in agricultural land. Two ideas - (1) would railroads be another place to look, and (2) as we get these cards into the database, would they be worth searching for references to "remant prairie", "prairie relict", "prairie relic" etc?
